Kathi was a Howard, SD, native who graduated in 1970 and enlisted in the US Army. She spent most of her career at Ft. Ben Harrison in Indiana.
She was married and had two children, one of whom also served in the Army.
Upon moving back to South Dakota from Chicago, she became very involved in the local American Legion post. She held offices at local, county, and state level.
She passed away in July 2010 and the members of the post dedicated this bench to her service.
