The
Bristoe Station Battlefield Heritage Park in Bristow, Virginia encompasses where the
Battle of Bristoe Station took place in October 1863. Hidden in the trees between the self-guided A. P. Hill's Folly walking trail and the railroad, there is an old abandoned threshing machine.
Before and after the Civil War, Bristoe Station was primarily an agricultural community until Centex Homes bought the land in 2002 and put up a development. They gave the land that comprises the battlefield to the Civil War Preservation Trust who then turned it over to Prince William County. Several old farm structures from the 1890s still stand in the area.
In an article* about a Prince William County program that allows police officers to live on the property of the Bristoe Station Heritage Park, there is mention of "an old, rusty piece of farm equipment that the county has yet to identify" but it is believed to be a pre-1920s thresher which was used to separate seeds and grain from husks and straw.
