The Old Mill Museum is located next to the 1898 Smokey Valley Roller Mill, and includes not only the mill, but also 12 buildings that provide a glimpse into the lives of central Kansas pioneers with special emphasis on the period from 1870 to 1910. Native American artifacts, photographs of the early pioneers, mock-ups of typical pioneer rooms such as a kitchen and bedroom, and artistic endeavors can be found inside the main museum building.
Out buildings include the original 1904 Swedish Pavilion from the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis, schools, a blacksmith shop and the 1879 Union Pacific Depot. The museum is operated by the county and the staff work had to make your visit enjoyable.
