This sculpture of a young man is set back from the street with trees partially surrounding it. The Concordia Centennial Time Capsule is located directly in front of the statue. The bronze shows some discoloration, with the two plaques being somewhat hard to read. There is a softness and simplicity to the sculpture, and the detail of the young man's thumb being hooked into his belt speaks volumes about any young man who has ever went off to fight his nation's battles. The sculpture is on the Smithsonian inventory.
