"Die Spitalkirche in Bayreuth liegt im Zentrum an der Maximiliansstraße, einem Straßenmarkt. Sie ist evangelisch-lutherisch und wird von der Stadt Bayreuth als Teil der Hospitalstiftung verwaltet. Spitalkirche und Bürgerhospital, Saalbau mit reich gegliederter Schaufront aus Sandsteinquadern mit Satteldach, Architekturplastik, Giebelrelief und Attikafiguren von Johann Gabriel Räntz, 1748-50 von Joseph Saint-Pierre; mit Ausstattung, Kanzelaltar 1750 von Johann Gabriel Räntz, Deckengemälde 1750 von Johann Benjamin Müller, Stuck von Rudolf Albini; anschließend Bürgerspital, dreigeschossiger Walmdachbau mit rustiziertem Portal, M. 18.Jh., dazu vier Trakte um rechteckigen Hof; im Osten dreigeschossiger Sandsteinquaderbau, Mitte 18.
