This elevation mark is located along Idaho Hwy. 28 about 33 miles west of Terreton, Idaho. The cap is about 105 feet southwest of highway centerline in ten inch square concrete monument. The cap was set by the U.S. Geological Survey in 1929 and was marked J24.

RECOVERY NOTE BY US GEOLOGICAL SURVEY 1950 (WRH) THE STATION IS LOCATED IN THE LEMHI VALLEY AND ALONG THE SOUTHWEST SIDE OF STATE HIGHWAY 28. IT IS ABOUT 33 MILES AIRLINE NORTHWEST OF TERRETON, ABOUT 36 MILES AIRLINE WEST OF DUBOIS, AND 1/2 MILE NORTHWEST OF THE BIRCH CREEK INN AND THE BLUE DOME CAFE. THE STATION IS 106 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTER LINE ON THE HIGHWAY AND 75 FEET NORTH OF A LOW SANDY HILL. IT IS A STANDARD USGS DISK SET IN THE TOP OF A 6-INCH SQUARE CONCRETE POST THAT PROJECTS 8 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND. THE DISK IS STAMPED--J 24 1929.
