This approx. 13 feet long and 8 feet high mural is painted on the side of a currently abandoned building on the east side of Medicine Park. The mural is easily seen as you drive west on Highway 49, through Medicine Park and to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge.
The artist presents a nice balance of the blue-green sky, light green on the large tree, and browns and darker colors on the animals. She shows Longhorn, cattle lounging and drinking from a river, and a cowboy with his horse. Lavern's signature can be found at the bottom left corner of the mural.
