Statue is located on the high point of ground in Mount Hope Cemetery and faces towards the west. Nearby is the carillon tower and the Pioneer woman monument. The inscription on the base reads:
The monument is located on the high point of the Mount Hope Cemetery and faces the entrance. Appears to have been erected by the G.A.R and the Woman's Relief Corps. No date or sculptor marks visible.
Inscription on the base of the monument reads:
