The statue is located a short distance inside the entrance to Mount Hope Cemetery. It is of a woman looking out in the distance while shading her eyes. She holds two books and wears a long dress.
The statue is white marble with with some brownish yellow discoloration. The base of the monument is granite and is inscribed: IN MEMORY OF PIONEER WOMEN ERECTED 1933.
