The first Bull (a steamship's whistle) was installed as a fire alarm in 1882. Later when the full time fire service was introduced it became the signal for the start and finish of the working day in the carpet industry. It sounded for the last time at noon on 18th March 1899.

It is now displayed on a wall in the Weaver's Wharf Shopping Centre in Kidderminster.
