Miriam West was born the same year that King William III of the Netherlands died without a male heir, and his daughter Princess Wilhelmina becomes Queen, causing Luxembourg (who required a male heir) to declare independence.

The final resting place of Miriam McGuffin West is at the east side of Rose Hill Burial Park, in the first section west of the Mausoleum. Hers is a flat white stone on the far east side of the section, about 20 feet north of the road. There are numerous West headstones near Miriam's.
