Offham got its name back in Saxon times. 'Offa' was the name of of the local Saxon Landowner, and 'Ham' means homestead or village.
The village sign is tall and rectangular in shape. The centre piece shows a Quintain, and is surrounded by hops and fruit. The hops and fruit depict the use of the land around the village. The Quintain (real one) is on the village green not far from this sign, and is said to be the only one in the UK.
This sign is along Teston Road on the village green. There is a small car park close by, but you can park roadside beside the green.
