Der mitten im Zentrum gelegene Rathausplatz wurde nach dem großen Stadtbrand von 1689 als Waffen- und Paradeplatz angelegt. Vor dem Rathaus befindet sich das bronzene Reiterstandbild des Prinzregenten Luitpold von Bayern. Geschaffen 1891 vom Münchner Bildhauer Wilhelm von Rümann, 1892 von Ferdinand von Miller in München in Bronze gegossen.

The Town Hall Square in the heart of the city, was created after the great fire of 1689 as a weapons and parade ground. In front of the town hall there is this bronze equestrian statue of Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria. Created in 1891 by the Munich sculptor Wilhelm von Rümann, 1892 cast in bronze by Ferdinand von Miller in Munich.
