This marker is dedicated to 10th Regiment Indiana Infantry in recognition of their service during the Battle of Chickamauga, fought September 19–20, 1863. The 10th Indiana Infantry at Indianapolis, Indiana April 22–25, 1861 for a 3 month tour of duty. They were reorganized at Indianapolis and mustered in for three years service on September 18, 1861. This is one of five markers to the 10th Indiana Infantry on the battlefield. This marker indicates the regiment's position on Sunday, September 20th, 1863, from 4 P.M. to 5 P.M.

Short Physical Description

This standard Indiana regimental marker consists of a 4' x 4' x 4'8" high rock-faced oolitic stone block with a peaked top and a 12" x 18" bronze plaque affixed to its front. Marks regiment's position on Kelly Field battle line.
