Usually there is a detail explanation of each twon's official symbol displayed on the flag, but the very extensive web site for Yongsan-gu has none.

Yongsan is one of the most internationals districts of Seoul, especially the Itaewaon and Hannam dividisions. THe huge Yongsan train station is one of the major transportation hubs for the country. The Yongsan Garrison, one of the main U.S. military installation, dominates a large section of Yongsan, and is located directly across the street from this new government complex where these flags fly. It is, however, scheduled for demolishing and the construction of a new, futuristic business district within a few years as U.S. military facilities are decentralized.
