In this flower field one can find many Arctotheca calendula, a plant commonly known as cape weed, cape dandelion, or cape marigold because it originates from the Cape Province in South Africa.

This flower is not indigenous to the area. It's presence is commonly interpreted as a sign of ecological perturbation, such as fires, floods, human activities.
