With the continuing influx of Norwegian settlers to the Nugents Corner and Lawrence area of Whatcom County the need for a place of worship grew. By 1891 plans were drawn up and construction began in 1892. This period of building lasted until dedication in 1898. Today many of the descendants of those settlers continue to worship in this church.
