The walks were created in 1977 to celebrate the Queen's Silver Jubilee. There are five walks in total each taking in a different part of London but all are enjoyable. Each walk is a loop so you can start anywhere and finish where you started.

This is the Western Loop and the starting point chosen is in the north east corner of Parliament Square in Great George Street - Point "B" on the walk's brochure that can be seen here. The loop is about six miles (nine kilometres) in length so will take over two hours if you wish to appreciate all the sights.

The starting point at this location is a silver pole with a type of crown on top and the words "Silver Jubilee Walkway 1977" around the edge. There are two maps attached to the pole.

Some of the sights you will see on this walk are:

Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament including Big Ben)
Leicester SquareTrafalgar Square and Nelson's Column
The Mall and Admiralty Arch
Horse Guards
Westminster Abbey
Lambeth Palace
The London Eye
Tate Modern
St Paul's Cathedral
The Royal Opera House

And many others.
