Great Allegheny Passage - Harnedsville Trailhead - Confluence, Pennsylvania
This section of the former Western Maryland Railway opened for trail use in 2001, at which time the name of the trail was changed to its current name for the completion of 100 continuous miles from McKeesport to Meyersdale. Facilities at Harnedsville include parking and a chemical toilet. The town of Harnedsville was named for Samuel Harned, who laid out the town in 1847.
The Great Allegheny Passage is a 147-mile hike/bike trail that connects the C&O Canal Towpath in Cumberland, Maryland and will soon connect the Point in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Harnedsville is at Milepost 59.
