Founded in 920,
the St. George’s Basilica is the second oldest Prague church and the oldest one preserved at the Prague Castle.
The most impressive outlook on the ancient basilica is from Jirská street. The portal above the southern entrance, depicting St. George fighting the dragon, was made by Benedict Ried workshop around 1515.
