Palmyra, New Jersey, a small Delaware River community celebrated the nation's bicentennial by planting a tree. Today it is large, healthy and marked by an oxidized bronze marker at its base.

Not too much to say about this. The tree was planted as an inexpensive way for this town to observe the Bicentennial. If I remember correctly, several Camden and Burlington Country towns did the same thing as they did here in Palmyra. The tree (I think it is a maple) is located in a triangular parcel of land called Morgan Park, which is dedicated to all Palmyra KIA Veterans from WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, and Desert Storm. There is a very beautiful multi-war monument located here as well.
