The Christ Lutheran Church was found in 1859 by Lutheran immigrants from German. The cemetery dates to around that time period. The cemetery is an active cemetery with around 300 graves. Many of the early gravestones are in German. The cemetery is well maintained by the church.
The current Christ Lutheran Church building was constructed 1872 in a Gothic Revival style.
