Located in the surroundings of Faro, this small set of salt pans used to be attached to the farm of Quinta do Ludo. With time this property, once famous amongst the people of the region, entered a decadent period and now it is little more than nothing.
There are a couple of ways to reach this place. Once of them starts in a trail near the road leading to the island of Faro and it's very popular for an afternoon hiking amongst the inhabitants of Faro.
There are just 6 or 7 pans but always well taken care of. One of the good things of this location is that visitors are allowed to walk around freely. Also, most of the time there are one or two impressive piles of salt on the spot.
