This is on the wall inside the Castle at Oxford , which was once a prison ,now a Complex with Hotel and restaurants.

PRISON
A WING
[1852- 56]
Modelled on Pentonville prison, a central space
was surrounded by 150 identical cells each
housing a single prisoner, held in isolation.
When closed in 1996 up to 3 men shared a cell.
in 2006 it opened as a hotel.
