The Duncan Sister's Fellowship began the Full Gospel Assembly in 1917, and worship began housed at Trinity Episcopal Church.

Matter of fact, using buildings left behind by other denominations as they expanded was something of a pattern in their history.

In 1922, they purchased the building that heretofore had been used by Ripley Methodist.

In 1953, Bethel outgrew its Ripley site just as Asbury Methodist was committing to the construction of its new building at 1050 East Avenue, so in 1955. Bethel Full Gospel purchased Asbury's old building, here at 321 East Avenue, and when the new Asbury United Methodist Church was complete, Bethel Full Gospel dedicated this historic sanctuary to their use.

A vast expansion of the building was begun in 1996 - the new "debt free" sancuary, but the 8:30 AM Sunday service still takes place in the historic sanctuary. The larger sanctuary is used for the 10 AM service.

In 1999, they changed their name to Bethel Christian Fellowship to acknowledge that "we are but one fellowship of the Church of Jesus Christ in Rochester". (visit link)
