The board describes the woodland on Brownsea Island which covers 3/4 of the area. The mixed tree species include Oak, Beech, Sweet Chestnut, Scots Pine, Silver Birch and Hazel and provide a rich habitat for wildlife.

Many birds thrive on the island including Goldcrests and Tree Creepers. The famous, native Red Squirrels can be glimpsed as they move quickly across the island. Other species include butterflies such as the Gatekeeper, White Admiral and Speckled Wood.

The information board is divided into the seasons of the year describing the various differences. Also details about volunteering for The National Trust can be found here to ensure the woodland is maintained and kept free of the invasive Rhododendron.
