The Lutheran Church of the Incarnate Word describes itself as a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and as an exciting, diverse, and inclusive parish that continues to expand its horizons! They describe their social justice ministry in multiple parts: healing and wellness including a Dominican Republic Health Care Project, Community Arts Academy, Community Food Cupboard, and Rochester Area Interfaith Hospitality Network (homelessness).

This church boasts two pipe organs:
The Holtkamp Organ was dedicated in 1965 above the choir loft (visit link) , and the 1869 Samuel Bohler Organ (visit link) . This second organ was purchased from Muddy Creek Church, removed and restored by Raymond and Ruth Brunner, and dedicated at this site in October 2006. Descriptions can be found at the links above.
