Leisure World is a private, age-restricted community in Seal Beach, California. At the entrance to Leisure World, there is a large world globe. The globe is a see-through type with circular rods forming longitude and latitude lines. Continents are placed on the outside of the frame. Some surface relief is present for mountain ranges.

Opening in 1962, Leisure World was the first major planned retirement community of its type in the nation. Today there are approximately 9,000 shareholders and residents which represents nearly one-half the households and one-third of the population of the City of Seal Beach.
