This poor example of a war memorial is located on the concourse of Marylebone Railway Station.

This memorial is located on the station's concourse and the co-ordinates given are for the entrance shown in the photographs. To find the memorial, enter the station, through the shown entrance, then turn left and the memorial is on a red brick wall about 40 metres straight ahead. Close by there are two other plaques: one to John Betjeman and one for the station's centenary. Both of these are easier to spot than the war memorial.
The memorial is a brass plaque, affixed to a wall, that reads:
"In memory of those employees / of the / Great Central Railway / who gave their lives / in the two World Wars / their names will live on / for evermore".
Looking for information on the UKNIWM database it would appear that there used to be a more worthy and elaborate memorial close by. This was removed whilst structural alterations were made to the station and was "lost" c1989.
The original memorial was to those staff that lost their lives during the Great War and numbered thirty one. The original memorial was unveiled on 24th November 1920. This date is shown in the variable.
