In memory of Dr. André de Leyssac 1925-1999 Author, Cardinal resident and Director of The Cardinal Historical Project André was born in France and immigrated tp Canada following World War II. After an initial career, he obtained a Ph.D., became fluent in four languages, and worked as a professor, translator, and author. After living many years in Winnipeg, he retired to Cardinal. Cardinal provided him with an environment where he could enjoy nature, think and relax. André sought to preserve Canada's French heritage and continued until his death to write articles and letters in support of those goals.
