Rose and Earl Murphy operate one of the last family-owned Mom & Pop donut shops in the area. Mrs. Murphy’s Donuts, a family owned business, has been a Southwick institution for 34 years. Regular customers come from western Massachusetts and northern Connecticut to enjoy fresh donuts made on the premises.
The shop goes through 1,000 pounds of shortening and 2,000 pounds of flour in an average week. They feature seasonal specials such as apple cider and pumpkin donuts in the fall, and coffee, soup, chili, sandwiches, and other baked goods throughout the year.
Mrs. Murphy’s is located at 538 College Highway, Southwick. They are open Monday through Saturday from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 4 a.m. to 5 p.m.
