Recognized as a national monument, this bridge features many sculptures. This one depicts a young child placing a garland around the mane of a standing lion. It is placed on a wall leading to the steps down to the river Seine. An internet search did not reveal the artist. The bridge was completed in 1900 for the Universal Exposition that year...so, presumably, the lion dates to 19000 or thereabouts.
