This historical marker is located near the entrance to this building and has an engraving of the building's facade. It was founded in 1847. It served as an association for those in the bookselling trades. In 1886, following a new law, the associations broke into their separate labor unions...booksellers, publishers, bookbinders and printers.
Charles Garnier is the architect of the building.
