This mural was painted in the 1980's as part of a successful attempt to re-invigorate the area. A collection of unusual small shops, beneath the mural, adds to the areas quirkiness.

The mural is painted onto the end wall of a building adjacent to The London Television Centre. Painted about 25 years ago the image is now fading and peeling. The aged affect is probably better than the effect when the paint was new as it has character.

The picture is of a row of houses and is probably in the region of 150 metres (500 feet) in length. The ground floor consists of proper shops and the mural extends above at true scale. In places the building is four storeys high. Each "property" has its own character and colour scheme with a variety of window styles. Some of the windows have people looking out at the area outside.
