The clock is mounted above the south entrance of the Mercado da Ribeira, an old market in Lisbon Downtown, once the biggest market in Lisbon.
It´s a beautifull clock, revolutionary for it´s time, made in France by "Orloges Bodet". The clock broke down and stayed that way for 20 years untill in 1998 António Franco, famous clock maker came to repair it. The mechanism was repaired and the dial had to be remade. Today, the dial holds the signature of Franco. It´s a glass dial (lighted during the night) with arab numbers and black pointers.
