This pool continues the theme of the nearby Latona Fountain which features Latona (Leto), the mother of Apollo and Artmeis, "...protecting her children against the insults of the peasants of Lycia, and calling on Jupiter to avenge them. He heard their plea and transformed them into frogs and lizards." (visit link)

The first sculpture (visit link) depicts a young boy and girl on either side of a thicket, kneeling and tending to the reeds. This one depicts the boy now with a frog's head.
