This sundial sittting on top of a memorial to a man who had died during King Philip's War in 1675, is on the grounds to the Smith's Castle Museum.

In North Kingstown, on the grounds of the Smith's Castle Museum, is a memorial that has a sundial perched on top.
The memorial is to the memmory of Captain John Gallup, who died during King Philip's War in 1675. King Philip, also known as Metacomet, was a Native American, who led an uprising against the European Settlers primarily in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Richard Smiths trading post, which was on this site, was the gathering point of a colonist militia, and from there launched an attack on the Native American warrior band, camped in a swamp nearby. Gallup is among forty men buried at this location from the conflict. The memorial was placed there by the Gallup family in 1969. Thus, I assume that the sundial was installed there as part of the memorial.
The bronze sundial is a classic circle with a perpendicular angle. There are numbers on the face, and additional lines help to determine the part of of the hour.
It's just too bad that it is always in the shade, all day.
The sundial is on the grounds of the Smith's House. It appears that you could visit it any time, as there are no sigificant barriers from the parking lot (though the driveway might be blocked in the winter).
