Ralph Bunche Park is located on the west side of First Avenue between 42nd and 43rd Street. One the north end of the park there is a 50' by 5' by 3' elongated stainless steel wedge on a pentagonal 10' by 20" base, that is designed to rotate 360 degree, entitled Peace One Form. It was created by a friend of Ralph Bunche, sculptor Daniel LaRue Johnson, Lippincott, Inc., was the fabricator and the area was designed by the architectural firm of Haines, Lundberg & Waehler. The sculpture was dedicated on September 15, 1980.

In the sidewalk below the sculpture is the inscription:

PEACE FORM ONE

Ralph Johnson Bunche (1904-1971) was an American diplomat, educator, political scientist, and United Nations mediator. He was the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1950. He was the first African-American to receive this award.
