William Nash Skillicorne was the great grandson of the founder of Cheltenham Spa and became the first mayor of Cheltenham in 1876. He served as mayor twice: 1876-77, 1879-82, before his death in 1887.

A picture of him can be found online on the BBC website, painted in 1882. The original is in the Cheltenham Art Gallery.
