The entrance to the museum is just over 100 years old, and recently finished a major reconstruction project. The windows at the main entrance reflect the purpose of the original Victoria Memorial Museum - to showcase science, nature, and man. The Victoria did not become the Museum of Nature until 1990. Birds and butterflies are central characters to the flanking windows, while the central window shows science related themes.
A common design found at the entrance and in other locations within the Museum incorporates thistles, red roses, and maple leaves.
Pictures of the main entrance windows can be taken from just inside the building, free of charge. The paying entrance counters are further inside the museum.
