This cairn appears to have new plaque. Located North of Edam, this was overall a small segment section of the overland trail from Red River Settlement to Fort Edmonton. Fort Pitt and Fort Carlton Trail are two forts nearest to this location. Notable travelers were Dr. James Hector of the Palliser Expedition (1857) and Sandford Fleming.
