The story of this quilt block is found in a blog by Suzi Parron related to the American Quilt Trail. The block is based on an actual family quilt owned by the Kramer family, thus the name shown below the square is "Kramer's Quilt". Looking at other sources, I lean towards the pattern being a "Washington Sidewalk". Seen on the side of barn out in the country.
