This blue plaque is high on a wall at 10 Bloomsbury Square. It looks slightly worse for wear and the decorator, that painted the white on the building, appears to have been lacking basic skills!

The plaque reads:
On the edge:
"London County Council"
In the centre:
"Dr Robert / Willan / 1757-1812 / Dermatologist / lived here".

==============================================================
==============================================================
A dermatologist, Willan was the first person to classify diseases of the skin. He was also an advocate of the curative effect of mineral waters, and in 1803 published the luridly-titled Account of the Dreadful Effects of Dram-Drinking.
