Pico de la Nieves is the highest point on the island Gran Canaria, one of the Canary Islands. It’s situated in the centre of the island and is 1949 meters high. The Pico de las Nieves can be recognized from far because of the military buildings that stand near the summit. You cannot reach the actual summit. The peak consists of a rock with a hole in it, which can be seen from the nearby snow pit. You can drive all the way up to the Pico de la Nieves. From Telde in the east a road leads up the mountain. Also from Cruz de Tejeda and the villages Ayacata and Las Lagunetas roads lead to the top. At the intersection just follow the signs.
