This history marker is on the edge of Headwater Park in downtown Fort Wayne, IN. It is next to the base of the bridge that leads from the park to the "Old Fort Wayne" area.
The sign is for the masonic lodge meeting place in the early 1800's.
The text reads:
"Early Masonic Lodge
Old fort near this point
was site of the first Masonic
meetings in northern
Indiana, early spring 1823,
leading in October to
original Wayne Lodge No. 25,
ancestor of present Lodge
of same name and number."
