On the mountain east of Provo overlooking Brigham Young University is a trail to the giant "Y" on the mountain.

The "Y" trailhead is located at the foot of Y mountain at the trail leading to the giant Y on the mouintain. The trail is 2.4 miles round trip with an elevation gain of 1074 feet. With 11 switchbacks the climb is not too difficult. Great view of Provo City and the BYU campus.
To reach the trailhead, drive 900 East, Provo, to 820 North. Turn east onto 820 North and follow it as it veers left and becomes Oakmont Lane. Continue up Oakmont Lane and then turn right onto Oakcliff Drive. Turn right where Oakcliff Drive Ts against Terrace Drive and Terrace Drive south to the trailhead access. There is parking available but can be busy on good hiking days.There are rest rooms close to the parking area.
