Sokol has a long history in St. Louis with the first unit in America being formed in 1865 in St. Louis. From 1890 until 1965 it was located at the National Hall at Dolman and Allen Avenue. In 1965 the old National Hall was razed to make room for an interstate highway however a present building was already under construction. The Sokol unit has been located at the present location at 4690 Lansdowne since 1965. A Sokol camp is also operated just south of St. Louis in Imperial, Missouri.
