Kuhglocken sind von ihrer Machart den Schellen zuzuordnen. Bei manchen geschickten Schmieden bekommt man auf die Noten einer Tonleiter gestimmte Sätze von Schellen; solch ein Satz bildet das Instrument Alpenglocken. "Kuhglocke" wird auch als deutsche Bezeichnung für das Instrument Cowbell verwendet. 2

Cowbells are classified by their construction of the clamps. With some skillful blacksmiths you get on the score of a musical scale tuned sets of clamps, such a sentence is the instrument Alpine bells. "Kuhglocke" Cowbell is used as a German name for the instrument.
