You can tell at one time this was a single family home detached but in the years since 1836, an addition with a dormer has been added and now it is attached to the building next to it. Still, it fits in nicely with the rest of the historic district. One of the last things built before the Victorian craze hit town. It represents the best this historic district has to offer.

For a more detailed and informed physical description of this site, I have added information from the original nomination form sent to me by John P. Byrne, National Register Database Manager (John_Byrne@nps.gov), Department of the Interior. This narrative was created March 16, 1979, mailed in to Washington, D.C. and evaluated April 18, 1980 and finally approved on July 21, 1982. Thanks to this designation and the efforts of the community to stop developers in the early 70s, Haddonfield is permanently protected and is one of the best example of an intact Colonial America.

Bakery shop converted from fine Federal period residence, built c. 1836. 2 1/2 story frame with curved dormer in top story. Original six over six lights in windows on second floor. First floor remodeled with twin bays, divided lights, entrances to two shops. A side wing was added with a dormer roof. Remodeling harmonious with character of original structure. --- National Register of Historic Places Inventory -- Haddonfield Historic District Nomination Form
