Williams is the "Gateway to the Grand Canyon" mainly do to the Grand Canyon Railway Depot just outside downtown Williams. The Railway and Arizona Highway 64 provide thousands of tourists each month easy access to the South Rim and Grand Canyon Village in the National Park. Williams is now primarily a tourist town, mining dollars from the pockets of the tourists that pass through each day, particularly during warmer months.
